  7. Tear out long and narrow strips of paper using your hand instead of the scissors; this will give the flowers a rough texture and a more natural look.
  8. Prepare the paper mache paste by mixing two parts glue and one part water in a small container.
  9. Dip a paper strip in the paste and cover it thoroughly in the glue, then wrap it around the wire completely. Repeat this process for three to four times at least.
  10. Leave it to dry now.
  11. Once the stem is dry entirely, dip more paper strips in the paper mache paste. When covered in the glue thoroughly, wrap the paper strips around the cardboard petals. The paper strips should cover the entire flower pattern. Repeat this process for three to four times at least.
  12. The edges of the paper should be visible to get a more natural look.
  13. Allow the paper mache glue to dry completely; this could take a few hours. You can keep the flowers in the sun, so they dry out thoroughly.
  14. When the flowers dry out and harden, paint them using acrylic paints in colors of your choice.
